The company Brandon Welding Enterprises was established by Les Donaldson and Dillan Donaldson. This dynamic specialised welding workshop is situated in Brakpan on the East Rand.

 

Brandon Welding Enterprises operates mainly in welding industry. The essence of this industry is in the ability to weld various materials as needed. Their client base is varied, however the companies that form the core of their client base are found to be from the engineering and transportation industry.

 

Management stated that their opposition rates the company as a definite force to be reckoned with.

 

When management was questioned as to why Brandon Welding Enterprises was in business, they said that the obvious answer would be to make a profit, but we are all aware that unless you eat, drink and sleep what your interests are, you most likely won’t succeed. So what really drives the company to remain focused is the desire to provide their clients and potential clients with a service beyond comparison.

 

Management stated that they are a close knit team of coded welders with good reputations. The company provides a very high standard of work. All their welding is done to S.A.S.O.L specifications and welders codes are supplied for insurance purposes.

 

The company does welding on all grades of aluminium, pewter and zinc castings, all grades of stainless steel, all grades of tool steel, copper, bronze, exotic alloys, incaloy, hastelloy, Inconel, Monel and many others.

 

They also do fabrication and installation of steam lines with carbon steel, stainless steel pipe lines made to the client’s requirements and copper lines. They also do repairs to plants, they perform maintenance and upgrading. They also are capable of modifications to tanks, lines and valve installations. The company is also able to do piping to reactors and the mounting of motors. Management also explained that they are able to do the fabrication of pressure vessels, instrumentation chambers and condensate pots. Management also told the Chamber that they do maintenance on brewery plants and food chains.

 

Management stated that all light and medium fabrication in S/S, aluminium and copper is done. They also perform site work.

 

Management enlightened the Chamber to the fact that the company also does repairs of all kinds that involve welding. They also do repairs to plastic injection moulds and dies. They are also equipped to perform casting repairs to aluminium, bronze found in pumps and impellers, copper, cast iron and carbon steel.

 

Brandon Welding Enterprises is also able to do repairs to trucks, sumps, stub-axles, chassis, body panels, trailers, floors, diesel tanks, gearbox housings, engine blocks, aluminium air coolers and intercoolers.

 

The company continues to put their best foot forward by offering décor work done on stainless steel, brass on handrails for staircases, pubs, boats, yachts and others. They also do interior wall panels, décor panels and bodies for lifts. They even perform this type of work on site.

 

Management said that their services would not be a complete package that is considered value for money if they did not offer heat treatment. They do fabrication of heat crucibles, 310 S/S, mild steel and inconel.

 

Like most small enterprises the company has an extremely high confidence in their workmanship that they rely on word of mouth referrals to enhance their company image. Management is also confident that the website developed by Chamberlink will be utilized as another form of marketing.

Brandon Welding Enterprises does have a Health and Safety plan in place and will be making use of the OHS training provided by the Chamber. Education is believed to be of importance in the company and thus provide in-house and external training on a regular basis.
